Laluzapalooza 2014 — La Luz de Jesus

What’s better than cool art? LOTS of cool art. Feed your craving for off-beat, sometimes dark art with Laluzapalooza 2014. The huge group show is celebrating it’s 28th anniversary, originally starting as a show called “Everything but the Kitschen Sync.” If you’ve never been to La Luz de Jesus, it’s a gallery with a lot of legit history as LA’s center for lowbrow art. It’s where artists like Matt Groening and Mark Ryden got their start. Expect fantastical, hilarious, twisted art from artists like Andy Hernandez, Horacio Martinez, José Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros, Eric Quezada, Matthew Price and more. Head to the opening reception Friday, March 7th from 8 to 11 p.m. If you miss the opening, the show will stay up until March 30th.
