Unísono Festival is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year. An annual music and culture fest in Chicago’s historic Pilsen neighborhood, Unísono celebrates community empowerment through diversity, education & social justice.
As a special feature for its Anniversart, the event will be celebrating and highlighting The Resurrection Project’s latest community development initiative: La Casa. La Casa is a new, innovative model in student housing aimed at attracting surrounding college-bound students to provide them with a safe living environment and specialized programs to incrementally increase their chances of college success.
Featured musical artists include Ramon Nova’s ethereal-dub-tropical Pacha Massive, Mexico City rising indie star Ceci Bastida, and Panamanian Bay Area cousins Los Rakas. As well as NYC-based chanteuse of Pacha Massive Monica Lionheart, NU Cumbia producer & dj DJ Dus, Reggae, Dancehall & Cumbia ensemble Bachaco, Chicago’s front lining Latin-Ska group Los Vicios de Papa, Salsa ensemble Rica Obsesión, Monterrey mix-master Toy Selectah, & bass music producer Ernest Gonzales, aka Mexicans with Guns.
