Although there are competitive events across Los Angeles during Halloween, no other city within the City of Angels is as synonymous for Halloween debauchery than West Hollywood. There are some Angelenos who’ve never experienced the carnaval, most want to try it and others are regulars. Whatever the case, make no mistake, West Hollywood is always in mind when October 31st comes around.
The 23rd annual West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval expects to draw around 500,000 ghouls and goblins, witches and superheroes, prince and princesses and the most creative outfits you’ll ever see. Six stages with a variety of performers will be erected  on Santa Monica Blvd between N La Cienega and San Vicente Blvd. But you can always just pick a spot and people watch for as long as you can.
What else is expected?
“Arriving in time for Halloween, The Rocky Horror Picture Show 35th Anniversary is coming to the Carnaval for a very special one-off engagement. One of the stages of the event will be devoted to performances honoring this legendary cult film throughout the night. Another main stage, Club 25, will feature house band Tranzkontinental, the Wandering Marionettes, aerialists The Birds and a rock & roll strip show. In addition to the two main stages, four smaller stages will feature DJs, graffiti artists, voguers and go-go dancers.”
Graffiti, costumes AND go-go dancers? Gold!
Remember, parking can be tough, so do your research before you hit the festivities.
