Frida Kahlo: The Play, an onstage homage written and directed by Rubén Amavizca-Murua, is coming back to amuse its audience with the Mexican artist’s story. The play stars Minerva GarcÃa as Kahlo and Richard Azurdia as her husband, fellow painter Diego Rivera. Both deliver performances filled with emotional, funny and dramatic range.
It’s amazing that, after all this time, Frida’s legacy keeps giving us something to look forward to. In this case, an up-close and personal play is a great opportunity to experience to the fullest the biography of one of the most acclaimed Latin American artists of all time. The play will open on March 12 and run until May 2.
