Make sure you visit El Nopal Press and The Latino Museum as part of February’s Downtown Art Walk. The self-guided tour of L.A.’s many art exhibition venues takes place the second Thursday of every month. The Walk encompaasses the Grand Avenue, Disney Hall, MOCA, Little Tokyo and the Financial District, and is centered around Gallery Row on Main and Spring Streets in the Historic Core.
El Nopal Press publishes fine arts prints and lithographs addressing social issues relevant to the cross-border dialog between Los Angeles and Mexico City artists, and its annex gallery will be open for the tour. The Latino Museum has a permanent collection of visual work from emerging and established contemporary Latino and Latin American artists. Pictured is one of Christina Fernandez’s picture from the LavanderÃa Series, currently on display.
Admission to every venue is free.
