CHICO MANN – “EASE ON OUT”
Marquitos Garcia, the guitarist for famosisimo Afro-beat group Antibalas, has a burgeoning project called Chico Mann (pronounce it a lo cubano: “cheeecoh meng!”) which he describes as follows:
“The music exists and thrives in a world where Jersey City is a short train ride away from Havana and where Casios and vintage drum machines collide with Afro-Cuban coros, freestyle keyboards, and Afrobeat sensibilities.”
Recently, he got a visit to his Jersey City studio from fellow cubanos Afrobeta (from Miami) so expect some crazy dance record shooting through cyberspace soon. This track is from the just-released Manifest Tone Vol. 3 EP, along with Ticklah.
